Teacher and Administrator Cynthia Partee Promotes Student Achievement

Cynthia Partee is a passionate science teacher and educational administrator who holds a bachelor’s in chemistry from Livingston College and a master’s in administration and supervision from Long Island University. This formal education is partnered with more than 25 years of hands-on experience that has included serving as a science teacher at Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx, science chairperson for East Central Ramapo School District, and science department chairperson at Division Avenue High School. Through these positions, Cynthia Partee gained experience in everything from leading dozens of teachers and working collaboratively on curriculum planning to teaching honors and regents chemistry.

Presently, Ms. Partee serves as the science instructional coach at Hempstead High School in Hempstead, New York. In this position, she is responsible for the instructional needs of 43 teachers in the 10th-grade house and 17 in the science department. Through modeling lessons and one-on-one assistance, she helps these teachers better manage their classrooms and implement evidence-based learning techniques. Ms. Partee also serves as a liaison between practice and research when it comes to analyzing school data, and she works with instructional team members when shaping assessment and curriculum to boost student achievement. Furthermore, Ms. Partee teaches regents chemistry and science electives at the school.
